Playground Games is expanding its world-class Fable audio team by seeking an Experienced Audio Designer (Mid/Senior/Principal Level) to create incredible audio experiences. As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about developing genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and fun. This role will involve shaping the sound of Fable, designing systems, sourcing, recording, and creating sound effects, and implementing audio in our in-house engine, ForzaTech. You will collaborate with other developers across multiple disciplines, fostering creative discussions and mentoring junior staff.
This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 3 days in the studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should bring:
- Expert sound design skills
- Experience having shipped at least one title in an audio-design role
- Desirable experience in AAA open-world games
- Practical knowledge of Wwise, including debugging and optimisation
- Expert knowledge of DAWs and various plugins
- The ability to adapt to new technology and bespoke game engine tools
- Desirable knowledge of blueprinting & visual scripts
- Location and studio-based SFX recording experience
- A passion for games
