Job Description

The Communications/Marketing Specialist will develop and maintain the College of Lawā€™s online social networking and digital media accounts, aiming to achieve marketing and communications goals. Responsibilities include creating, monitoring, and managing content across various platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter), as well as analyzing usage statistics. This position will help convey the unique and impactful story of the College of Law, focusing on community, student life, faculty news, and events to engage audiences such as prospective students, alumni, and current faculty and staff.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and execute social media communications plans.

2. Communicate information about the College of Law to various stakeholders.

3. Manage research and development of content for digital publication, including writing, photography, videography, and graphics.

4. Monitor the effectiveness of social media tactics and adjust plans as necessary.

5. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on various projects.

6. Proofread social media communications and monitor relevant accounts.

7. Develop and adhere to project timelines.

8. Ensure that distributed material is accurate and timely.

9. Perform related duties as assigned (e.g., photo shoots, assist with communications campaigns).

Requirements

Bachelorā€™s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field plus 3 years of experience, or equivalency; excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills; familiarity with various computer software; project management skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Additional experience with specific computer systems, interviewing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio & video production, and oral presentation may be required. A Masterā€™s degree in a related field may be preferred.
