Job Description
This position is a contracted role with an expectation of 30-40 hours per week, with the potential for contract-to-hire after 90 days. Join a vibrant and growing public relations and marketing team at a strategic communications firm focused on helping organizations meet the complex demands of a rapidly evolving world. We are looking for a dynamic, energetic, and prudent design superstar with a knack for creating art that resonates with niche audiences.
Responsibilities
- Create visual and written content for various audiences and publishing platforms (web, digital signage, email, social media, presentations, proposals, reports, etc.), adapting voice and style accordingly.
- Design original and curated content, layouts, and templates for press releases, newsletters, talking points, presentations, marketing materials, and other communications.
- Execute innovative social media campaigns on platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
- Generate monthly reports for clients and suggest improvements based on past campaign results.
- Monitor clients’ media campaigns across social platforms and collectively implement communication strategies to promote client projects.
- Build and maintain client relationships and assist with media relations.
- Identify additional service opportunities for existing clients.
- Collaborate across departments to meet multiple deadlines and commitments.
Requirements
- Strong ability to listen to client needs and develop creative briefs, mockups, mood boards, and prototypes from abstract ideas or notes.
- Demonstrated ability to follow basic project protocols, including budget and timesheet entry.
- Ability to adapt creative direction based on feedback.
- Advanced knowledge of graphic design techniques and tools, specifically Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop; with preferred knowledge in Adobe After Effects and Canva.
- Intermediate video editing skills for producing short-form video content.
- Solid understanding of various social media writing styles and basic knowledge of social media marketing and analytics.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; client-facing experience is a plus.
- Experience with communication tools, including websites, social media, and blogging platforms.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Excellent time and task management skills.
- Multilingual abilities are preferred (languages: Spanish, Somali, Hmong).
Preferred Qualifications
4-year degree (or equivalent work experience) in Communications, Public Relations, Public/Government Affairs, Marketing, or a related field. Knowledge of web design, wireframing, and SEO for basic single-scroll websites. Experience executing social media advertising campaigns.

Additional Information
Job Types: Contract, Temporary
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
