Job Description

We’re looking for a skilled, efficient Video Editor to join our Production Studio. As an Editor, you’ll collaborate with creative teams on video projects during the post-production phase. You’ll be responsible for assembling live-action footage, music, voice-over, sound effects, and motion graphics to create engaging finished video products that align with client goals. A strong sense of visual storytelling and polished technical skills are essential, along with being a natural collaborator comfortable working directly with clients and team members in various production roles.

Responsibilities

As an Editor, you will:

• Thirst for knowledge: Stay informed on current trends and classic storytelling and editing techniques.
• Pay attention to detail: Ensure high standards for story, sound, and color quality in every project.
• Maintain meticulous organization: Keep project workflows organized and well-documented for team continuity.
• Be a team player: Collaborate openly with team members and take feedback with an open mind while defending your ideas with rationale.
• Juggle competing priorities: Manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexities to meet deadlines.
• Tell compelling stories: Assist with story ideas and editing styles in pre-production.
• Serve as a conscious critic: Provide constructive feedback on projects for better overall video improvement.
• Help improve processes: Suggest new practices and processes for post-production efficiency.

Requirements

• A proven work history of video editing experience.
• Strong understanding of:
• Storytelling principles
• Composition
• Editing techniques and post-production workflow
• Proficiency with professional editing tools, including the Adobe Creative Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to work within client brand guidelines.
• Strong time management skills.
• Passion for filmmaking and staying updated on industry trends.
• Bonus skills/experience:
• Sound Mixing
• Color Grading
• DaVinci Resolve
