Job Description

We are seeking a talented and creative Motion Designer to join our team at Launch Legends. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and producing captivating motion graphics and animations for our company’s websites, web applications, and other digital platforms. This part-time position offers an equity compensation model and provides an opportunity to collaborate with a global team of experts to revolutionize the creator economy and extreme sports industry.

The role requires a strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and the ability to bring visual elements to life through motion. The candidate will work on three main projects: Autheo, GO WFO, and Launch Legends, and contribute to the development of engaging, high-quality web experiences.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and design motion graphics and animations that enhance the user experience and effectively communicate key messages.
• Collaborate with the design team for seamless integration of motion graphics with overall visual design and branding guidelines.
• Develop animations for website elements including headers, banners, call-to-actions, transitions, loading screens, and interactive components.
• Create animated illustrations, icons, and visual effects complementing the website’s content and messaging.
• Optimize and export animations in web-friendly formats while maintaining quality and performance.
• Stay up-to-date with web design trends, animation techniques, and emerging technologies.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for enhancing visual appeal and user engagement.
• Work closely with developers to ensure compatibility of motion graphics across various browsers and devices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience in motion design, specifically for web-based projects.
• Proficient in motion graphics software such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience (UX), and responsive design.
• Knowledge of web animation technologies such as HTML5 canvas, CSS animations, and JavaScript libraries (e.g., GreenSock, Lottie).
• Familiarity with video editing software and techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Candidate must have a good working design system and strong internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with interactive design and prototyping tools (e.g., Adobe XD, Framer, InVision).
• Knowledge of front-end web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with motion capture or 3D animation is a plus.
• A portfolio demonstrating exceptional motion design work for web-based projects.
