Job Description

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. In this role, you will support the design and development of avionics subsystem test equipment needed for a variety of liquid propulsion rocket engines and multiple spaceflight systems. This includes supporting Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) development, defining software architectures, and collaborating with the Engines Design Office to enable robust avionics test equipment development. You will also apply software engineering methodologies, mentor less-experienced team members, and contribute to the advancement of safe human spaceflight.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in electrical, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related technical degree.
  • 5+ years of software development, integration, systems engineering and/or testing experience, including complex embedded systems development and testing.
  • Proficiency troubleshooting analog and digital hardware with measurement equipment.
  • Experience with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems.
  • Proficiency with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Docker, Jenkins, and Artifactory.
  • Proficiency with higher-level programming languages such as Python or C/C++.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the entire liquid rocket engine product life cycle and software architecture.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems and development/testing/integration.
  • Background in data acquisition/measurement fundamentals.
  • Experience with designing and building real-time data acquisition systems on Linux.
  • Familiarity with various sensors and communications protocols.
  • Experience with distributed simulation implementation standards.
  • Experience with mission operations and ground data systems.

Compensation

The compensation range for Washington applicants is $141,480.00 - $198,072.00.
