Job Description
This part-time, 22 hours/week Graphic Designer (Graphic Designer/Illustrator) position at KUOW will be instrumental in sharing the organizationās mission and work through the creation of compelling visuals across multiple channels and mediums, from Instagram posts to printed postcards. The role involves delivering clean, web- and print-ready designs based on existing style guides and brand guidelines in a fast-paced production environment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:
- One year of applicable college-level training in graphics design, or equivalent art school training.
- One year of experience as a Graphic Illustrator, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Expertise in web and pre-press, along with intrinsic design ability and typographic skills.
- Acute attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects while communicating with key stakeholders.
- Experience with design software and programs including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Canva.
- Knowledge of standard design file preparation for different applications including large scale outdoor print and high-resolution digital formats.
- Commitment to racial equity and ability to work with diverse teams.
Additional Information
Salary: 55% of $3839 - $5135 per month.
Work involves creating designs for various outputs, managing design collaborations, and attending meetings and training sessions. The position reports to the Marketing Campaign Manager and may occasionally require evening and weekend work. The work environment may include cubicle/open workspace, and the position is suitable for hybrid/occasional telework.
