Job Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer (E1) to join our engineering group, which is focused on building and integrating foundational technology for a globally distributed “Amex as a service” offering. You will be part of a self-organizing team that leverages modern languages and tools to deploy software in public cloud environments.

Your responsibilities will include provisioning infrastructure and installing software for hundreds of applications simultaneously, building and operating global services with compute and data that are partitioned across geographically distributed data centers. You will scope technical projects, break them down into user stories and tasks, and actively contribute to the design and coding of our software systems.

This role emphasizes creating secure, reliable, scalable, and extensible systems. You are expected to mentor junior team members and assist with projects that enhance their skillset.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• At least 3 years of experience as a software engineer in a professional environment.
• Experience contributing to the design and build of cloud-native applications.
• Experience with building CI/CD pipelines or setting up cloud hosting environments.
• Some experience in mentoring junior engineers.
• Skills in Node.js, Go, GIT, AWS, Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Java, and JavaScript.

Location

This position is based in Phoenix, AZ, with Day 1 onsite requirements.
