Job Description
A Little About Us⊠Weâre Komodo Digital, a Newcastle-based digital studio with a passion for solving complex problems and creating real-world impact for our clients. We are looking for a Senior Designer to join our team, someone who can manage projects autonomously while being a great collaborator.
This role reports directly to the Design Director, and youâll be responsible for leading the design process from start to finish, developing concepts and turning ideas into beautifully crafted digital products. You will balance creativity with practicality, transforming complex ideas into intuitive, user-friendly designs. Close collaboration with clients, developers, product managers, and other designers is essential to deliver high-quality projects.
This is a hybrid role, requiring attendance at the Newcastle studio a few days a week as well as at client meetings/workshops.
Requirements
About You
- Youâre an experienced designer able to take ownership of projects, working independently and as part of a team.
- You value strong design principles and believe in solid foundations over fleeting trends.
- Youâre friendly, hardworking, and sociable, capable of leading workshops and engaging with colleagues.
- Youâre confident in running discovery workshops and creative sessions independently.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Highly creative with strong UI/UX and visual skills demonstrated through a portfolio.
- Solid understanding of design principles and best practices, creating user-centered digital products.
- Familiarity with Figma, FigJam/Miro, and prototyping tools.
- Strong communication skills for presenting design decisions effectively.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Open to receiving and providing feedback to improve designs and processes.
Nice to Have (Optional)
- Experience in conducting user research.
- Experience in branding design.
- Familiarity with Framer and building websites.
- Experience with animation and micro-interactions.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
