Job Description
As a Product Designer, you will work alongside talented and passionate teammates from diverse backgrounds. Together, youβll identify customer problems or opportunities, develop the strategic UX vision, and communicate that narrative across the business. You will lead a cross-functional team through a user-centered design approach, both hands-on and in facilitation. This role involves executing user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and user experiences that validate the strategy, hypotheses, and business/user goals.
Responsibilities
- Utilize user-centered design approaches to define customer problems/opportunities with cross-functional teams.
- Develop concepts, wireframes, and prototypes through facilitation and hands-on work.
- Produce high-fidelity UI deliverables for engineering handoff and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design quality.
- Iterate on design solutions based on research and analytics/metrics.
- Partner with Product Management for customer-centric solutions from prototype through release.
- Promote design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Stay current on emerging industry trends and competitive landscapes for visual design and usability enhancements.
- Connect design strategies to business results.
- Maintain existing UX/UI style guides.
- Partner with the research team for planning and conducting research to inform design decisions.
- Deliver user experiences that meet or exceed success criteria, driving measurable results.
- Leverage and contribute to the existing design system, documenting for implementation and usage.
- Contribute to all scrum team ceremonies, representing design, and provide support and feedback to design teammates.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience crafting experiences for complex consumer-facing products or e-commerce companies.
- A current portfolio that demonstrates the ability to tell a concise and compelling story behind your design process and style.
- Experience designing solutions for a variety of users grounded in user, business, and technical insights.
- Previous JIRA experience and familiarity with agile methodology.
- Ability to excel through ambiguity, ask questions, identify valuable problems, and solve them independently.
- Self-starter with a desire for collaborative problem-solving.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with comfort in critique and collaboration.
- Experience in designing projects with various stakeholders.
- Expert-level knowledge of Invision and/or Sketch, with experience in designing and prototyping complex workflows.
- A demonstrated strong curiosity for learning and empathy towards the community of designers and developers.
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive for continuous innovation.
- BS or BA degree (or equivalent experience) in Human-Computer Interaction, UX/UI/Design, or a related area.
