Job Description

Location: ONS operates a flexible hybrid working model across the UK, linked to contractual locations in Newport, Titchfield (Fareham), Manchester or Edinburgh, with a minimum of 40% office attendance requirement.

As a part of the Digital Publishing team, the role involves proofreading high-profile content published on the ONS website, ensuring compliance with house style, quality, and accessibility standards. Additionally, the role includes supporting authors in the publishing process, co-presenting workshops, managing team inboxes, and leading small content improvement projects. This position emphasizes user-centered content design and collaboration within the team.

Requirements

Essential Skills Criteria

  • User-centred content design: Ability to proofread, edit copy, and maintain high editorial standards while managing workload effectively.
  • Stakeholder-relationship Management: Understanding of stakeholders’ needs and effective relationship management.
  • Strategic thinking: Ability to contribute to strategy and policy development while understanding process improvements.
  • User focus: Awareness of user experience analysis principles and focus on user needs.
