Job Description

A multi Oscar-winning creative studio, Framestore collaborates with some of the greatest storytellers in film to design, plan, and create beautiful images. The studio focuses on innovative creative solutions that support the vision of directors and producers, setting new standards for visual effects in cinema. As an animator, you will produce high-quality animation that contributes to compelling, story-driven, and action-packed moments fitting the style and pacing of the film.

In this role, you will work closely with the lead animator and animation supervisor, as well as the rigging and pipeline departments, offering suggestions and feedback to enhance character setups, visual quality, rigs, and tool functionality. You will also be expected to respect schedules and deadlines and communicate effectively with the production team regarding timelines and deliverables. Additionally, you will train in the use of new tools, software, data, and related technology.

Requirements

Must Have:

• Previous experience as an animator in a studio environment
• Thorough knowledge of Maya
• Understanding of movements, weights, balance, textures, and shapes
• Knowledge of rigs and typical rigging setups, animation processes, and data transfer between tools
• Reliability and ability to manage time well, meeting deadlines under pressure
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technical skills

Nice to Have:

• Working knowledge of modeling, rigging, and scripting with Mel or Python
• Experience with motion capture data and/or classical animation or traditional art experience
• Knowledge of human and animal anatomy and the ability to draw from life
