Job Description
Rebellion is seeking an experienced Lead Game Designer with exceptional leadership and people management skills to guide a talented team on an unannounced project. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to help shape the development process right from the very start. The successful candidate will have oversight of the project design team, leading, inspiring, and mentoring designers to deliver high-quality gameplay experiences. This position is based at Rebellion’s riverside headquarters in Oxford, which offers a creative atmosphere that values teamwork. A relocation package is available for candidates moving to the area, and while face-to-face collaboration is encouraged, hybrid working options can be discussed based on individual needs.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience, with a focus on best practice people management techniques.
- Ability to manage team performance and provide constructive feedback through performance review cycles.
- Collaborative skills to work with Design Directors and Production teams, balancing creative vision with production realities.
- Experience in overseeing project design teams and mentoring designers across various aspects of their roles.
- Strong feedback and review skills to ensure alignment with design briefs and stakeholder requirements.
- Expert knowledge of the video game development process, including production pipelines.
- Extensive understanding of people management best practices.
- Broad business knowledge regarding company structure, operations, and strategy.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results using required tools and processes.
- Excellent communication skills to maintain team morale and foster creativity.
