Job Description

Job Title: Product Designer II

Job Summary: We are looking for a bright, engaged Product Designer who will work closely with fellow designers, as well as members of the product, engineering, and content groups, to create and produce exceptional user experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Produce high-quality visual assets, layouts, and user experiences that align with and elevate the brand voice, and enhance the content experience for our readers.
• Design the information architecture, interface, and interaction flows for a range of screen sizes and interaction models.
• Collaborate with editors and the wider team to ideate, evolve, and execute best-in-class visual design — art direction for illustration, photo treatments, motion design, and custom layouts.
• Help to define and evolve design standards and best practices via our multi-brand design system.

Requirements

Mandatory Skills:

• 4+ years of experience creating user-centered design solutions, preferably for editorial content.
• Able to explain your ideas and design decisions to a range of stakeholders.
• Understand the value of design and brand, and have a point of view about your work.
• Interested in working in a collaborative environment where ideas are valued and shared.
• Able to take charge as a design lead on multiple projects, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Able to give and take direction and criticism.
• A high level of proficiency creating prototypes with Figma and other tools.
• Proficient using the Adobe suite and other visual design tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or equivalent work experience.
• A portfolio of work showcasing how content, design, and interface work together to create great digital experiences.

Good To Have:

• Experience creating and maintaining corporate identities and associated design systems.
• Illustration + animation skills.
