Job Description

A Little About Us: We’re Komodo Digital, a Newcastle-based digital studio with a passion for solving complex problems and creating real-world impact for our clients. About the Role: We’re looking for a Senior Designer who can run projects autonomously and collaborate effectively. Reporting to the Design Director, you’ll take full ownership of the design process, leading discovery workshops, developing concepts, and creating digital products. This role involves balancing creativity with practicality to produce user-friendly designs across platforms, working closely with clients and collaborating with developers and other team members.

Requirements

About You: You’re an experienced designer who takes ownership of projects and values strong design principles over fleeting trends. You have excellent communication skills, are friendly and sociable, and confident leading client workshops.

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Highly creative with strong UI/UX and visual skills, showcased in your portfolio.
  • Solid understanding of design principles and a focus on user-centered digital products for web and mobile platforms.
  • Proficient in Figma, FigJam/Miro, and prototyping tools.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating design decisions to teams and clients.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
  • Open to feedback for improving designs and processes.

Nice to Have (Optional):

  • Ability to conduct user research including interviews and usability testing.
  • Experience in branding design.
  • Proficiency in Framer and Adobe Creative Cloud applications.

What You’ll Do

You’ll take ownership of design projects from start to finish while facilitating workshops, collaborating with team members, and ensuring designs are user-centered and functional. You will present your design decisions effectively and iterate based on feedback from clients and users.
