Job Description

The Opportunity: Our client is one of the largest Engineering consultancies in the UK. They are currently searching for a Tekla Designer to join their team operating out of Bristol. You will be joining a team currently working across multiple projects, with the main one being the new build nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience:

• Design office experience.
• Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health & Safety regulations.
• Knowledge of 3D tools, and capability to produce high-quality 2D drawings.
• Previous experience in SW design.

It’s great if you also have the following:

• Experience in the nuclear sector and plant layout engineering would be advantageous.
• Experience of dealing with design and layout constraints.

Responsibilities

• Producing steelwork platform designs compliant with the Eurocode3, ETC-C, and Edvance internal guidance.
• Liaising with the building layout and Civil teams to coordinate the design.
• Maintaining Edvance’s QA procedures in delivering the SW design.
• Working with the SW engineers in the preparation of the design drawings/models.
• Reporting progression in team meetings.

Setting for the Role

Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licensed site. These can include nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high-pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
