The Phoenix office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop proposals, qualifications, and presentation graphics.
- Assist in implementation and evolution of corporate identity across all internal design materials.
- Execute the design for both printed and digital pieces, such as brochures, newsletters, awards submissions, emailers, banners, videos, and other miscellaneous signage.
- Contribute to the design and presentation of client projects including the development of reports and environmental graphic design by working closely with a more senior designer.
- Collaborate with team members across disciplines and geographic locations to produce graphics for a wide variety of teams across SmithGroup.
- Support concept development for printed and digital pieces with members of the Creative Services team.
- Create brand materials with attention to detail and creative thinking.
- Collaborate with more senior designers on engaging and strategic design across the firm.
- Maintain knowledge of design trends and contribute to analysis of client needs.
- Support the evolution of the SmithGroup brand while maintaining core corporate identity.
- Assist in developing strategies for project-specific marketing activities and studio marketing initiatives.
- Provide peer review of initial draft documents for visual consistency.
Requirements
An ideal candidate should possess:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, Word, Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
- Preferred knowledge of Deltek Vision, MS Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and Database programs.
- Ability to understand principles of layout and application to marketing materials.
- Eye for design details, including typography, alignment, and hierarchy.
- Ability to summarize text and craft effective written messages when needed.
- Knowledge of the print process and experience with print vendors.
- Understanding of video creation and editing tools, such as Adobe Premier Pro, is a plus.
- Knowledge of other presentation technologies is a plus.
