Job Description

As a Visual/UI Designer at MakerSights, you will play a critical role in shaping the content and visual design of our products - including our software platform, insight reports, and more. Through the MakerSights products, you will help apparel, footwear, and accessory brands make informed product decisions. Reporting to the Director of Product, you will work closely with the product, marketing, and insights teams to create functional, beautiful, and user-centric designs that solve real customer problems. This role requires a passion for user-centered design, a strong visual eye, and the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable designs.

Requirements

Your Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in design, ideally in SaaS or research-driven environments.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently in a small, fast-paced team.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Adaptable to change and comfortable working in an environment with ambiguity.
  • Curiosity and a proactive mindset that drives continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a mix of visual design, UI, and UX projects.
  • Proficiency with design tools like Figma, along with knowledge of prototyping and wireframing tools.
  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and how to translate user needs into effective design solutions.
  • Ability to transform complex data into visually compelling and user-friendly designs, particularly in the area of data visualization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present and explain design decisions to stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating seamless, user-friendly experiences.

Salary Information

The Salary Range for this position is CAD 70,000-80,000 annually, with exact salary depending on location as well as prior work experience and the assessment of one’s fit for the role.
