The Phoenix office of SmithGroup is looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join our team.
In this role, you will:
- Develop proposals, qualifications, and presentation graphics.
- Assist in the implementation and evolution of corporate identity across all internal design materials.
- Execute the design for both printed and digital pieces, such as brochures, newsletters, award submittals, emailers, banners, videos, and other miscellaneous signage.
- Contribute to the design and presentation of client projects, including the development of reports and environmental graphic design.
- Collaborate with team members across disciplines and geographic locations to produce graphics for various teams.
- Support concept development for printed and digital pieces.
- Create brand materials through design and attention to detail.
- Maintain knowledge of design trends and push creative limits within the SmithGroup brand.
- Contribute to analysis of client needs and recommend suitable approaches.
- Support the evolution of the SmithGroup brand while maintaining corporate identity.
- Assist in the development of strategy for marketing activities and peer review initial draft documents for visual consistency.
Requirements
An ideal candidate has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4-6 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Bridge, Word, Acrobat, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Deltek Vision, MS Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and database programs is preferred.
- Ability to understand layout principles and apply them to marketing materials.
- Eye for design details, such as typography, alignment, hierarchy, etc.
- Ability to summarize text and craft effective written messages when needed.
- Knowledge of the print process and experience working directly with print vendors.
- Understanding of video creation and editing tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of other presentation technologies is a plus.
