Job Description

Outlier helps the world’s most innovative companies improve their AI models by providing human feedback. We are looking for talented writers with fluency in German to help train generative artificial intelligence models. This freelance opportunity is remote, with flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever is best for you.

Key responsibilities include reading German text to rank AI-generated responses, writing short stories in German on given topics, and assessing the factual accuracy of German text produced by an AI model.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience as a professional translator.
• Professional writing experience in fields such as copywriting, journalism, technical writing, or editing.
• Enrollment in or completion of an undergraduate program in a humanities field or a field related to writing.
• Enrollment in or completion of a graduate program related to creative writing.

Payment

Currently, pay rates for core project work by German writing experts average USD $29 per hour. Rates may vary based on expertise, skills assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhD holders. Lower rates may apply for non-core work such as initial project onboarding or project overtime phases. Certain projects may also offer incentive payments.
