Job Description

Olsights is an innovative, mission-driven company focused on helping organisations accelerate decarbonisation development projects amidst a complex data landscape. We are looking for a talented and creative Information Experience Designer to join our dynamic team as we embark on an exciting energy network innovation project. This role will enhance user experience for our products by developing innovative tools to improve renewable energy connections and optimise network/project planning. You will create visually engaging, intuitive interfaces that transform complex data into actionable insights and work closely with technical teams, energy experts, stakeholders, and national policy-makers.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in UI/UX design, digital artistry, information design or digital product design, preferably within a technical or data-driven domain.
• Skills: Strong proficiency in design tools such as Figma and Miro. Proven experience in data visualisation and the ability to translate complex information into clear formats.
• Technical Knowledge: Understanding of user-centred design principles, interaction design, usability testing, and familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML/CSS, Next.js, React, d3.js, p5.js) is a plus.
• Geospatial Skills: Experience with geospatial data visualisation (e.g., Mapbox, deck.gl) is highly desirable.
• Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective work in a remote, cross-functional team.
• Personal Attributes: A creative problem solver with attention to detail, empathy, and comfort in a small startup environment.
