Job Description

Outlier helps the world’s most innovative companies improve their AI models by providing human feedback. We are looking for experienced English writers to lend their expertise in training AI models. This is a reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity that is remote and offers flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever is most suitable for you.

Requirements

• Fluency in English
• Experience as a professional writer or editor
• Currently enrolled in or completed a bachelor’s degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution
• A strong sense of writing style with exceptional English spelling and grammar
• Strong logic and reasoning skills
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text

Job Responsibilities

• Reading English text to rank a series of AI-generated responses
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, including research and fact-checking
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of text produced by AI models

Payment

Payment rates vary based on expertise and location. Currently, rates for core project work in the US range from $15 to $35 USD per hour, while in the UK it ranges from £11 to £27 GBP, in Canada $20 to $48 CAD, in Australia $22 to $53 AUD, and in New Zealand $25 to $58 NZD. Rates may increase for PhD holders and can vary based on project needs and skills assessment. Lower rates may apply for non-core work, and certain projects may offer incentive payments. Please review the payment terms for each project.

This is a 1099 contract opportunity on the Outlier.ai platform. We do not offer internships, sponsorship, or employment, and you must be authorized to work in your country of residence.
