Job Description
An opportunity for a fixed-term/temporary Videographer/Editor is available. The Videographer/Editor is responsible for the shooting and editing of video for news programs, live coverage, breaking news, and other productions. This role requires working independently or as part of a team to create and edit video and sound that accurately represents the news. The Videographer/Editor will also be accountable for maintaining assigned equipment, including cameras, lights, and editing gear, and initiating repairs when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Films and edits all video content, in studio and on location.
- Oversees all aspects of location filming, including lighting and sound recording.
- Manages pacing, flow, and storytelling arc of all video content.
- Partners with reporters and producers to conceptualize new ideas for video content.
- Engages viewers through creativity and cutting-edge video skills.
- Provides initial reviews of all video content, ensuring accuracy before finalization.
- Ensures all names, titles, and words on screen contain no errors.
- Oversees the distribution of completed videos to the appropriate parties.
- Stays updated on new trends in video production to enhance NJTVâs video content.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 yearsâ experience in video filming and editing.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premier Pro and other Adobe Creative Cloud Suite applications.
- Strong visual storytelling skills and ability to conceptualize shooting ideas.
- Knowledge of current and emerging newscast technologies.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid driverâs license.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data and are commensurate with skills and experience. The compensation range for this position is $30.00 - $31.25 per hour. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
