Job Description

We are seeking a creative, results-driven, and highly organized Social Media Marketing Lead to drive our social media strategy, grow our online presence, and engage our audiences across platforms. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in developing and executing successful social media campaigns that align with brand goals and resonate with target audiences.

This position can be based at any TEGNA station location.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development:
• Design and implement comprehensive social media strategies to align with business goals.
• Identify target audience segments and develop platform-specific strategies to engage them effectively.
• Content Creation & Management:
• Lead the creation, curation, and scheduling of compelling, high-quality content (text, images, videos, etc.).
• Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and other team members to produce innovative and engaging posts.
• Monitor trends and competitor activity to inspire fresh, relevant content ideas.
• Campaign Execution:
• Plan and execute paid and organic social media campaigns to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
• Optimize campaigns based on performance data to maximize ROI.
• Community Engagement:
• Actively monitor and manage social media channels to respond to comments, questions, and reviews promptly and professionally.
• Foster a positive and engaging online community around the brand.
• Analytics & Reporting:
• Track, analyze, and report on key performance metrics (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns.
• Use insights to adjust strategies and tactics for continuous improvement.
• Team Leadership:
• Mentor and guide junior team members or interns.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, customer service, etc.) to align messaging and strategies.
• Stay Updated:
• Keep up with the latest social media trends, tools, algorithms, and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of proven experience in social media marketing, with a strong portfolio of successful campaigns.
• Expertise in major platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter (X), LinkedIn, Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics platforms.
• Strong creative and visual storytelling abilities.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Familiarity with SEO, content marketing, and digital advertising best practices.
• Leadership and team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with influencer marketing and collaborations.
• Knowledge of graphic design or video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Suite).
• Previous experience managing a team or leading cross-functional projects.
