Job Description

Capital One Canada is seeking a Principal Associate, Motion Graphics Designer / Video Editor to join their Experience Design (XD) Team. This role will involve applying animation skills to solve complex design problems and produce high-quality digital animations and motion graphics for various internal and external projects. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to deliver engaging content that adheres to brand standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HCI/UX, Social Science, Psychology, Research, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in motion graphic design and video editing.
  • Expert knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with various business partners to deliver outcomes.
  • Strong design sensibility with an understanding of composition/layout, color, and typography.
  • Proven ability to execute big ideas in video production and motion graphics.
  • Extensive knowledge of video industry standard formats and digital media practices.
  • Experience in audio production in tandem with video editing.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Strong communication and storytelling abilities.
  • Ability to conceptualize fresh, on-trend ideas, both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce digital animations and motion graphics for various projects.
  • Prepare static design concepts and storyboards.
  • Video edit projects from start to completion.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Source imagery and audio for video projects.
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards and best practices.
  • Lead planning and development of creative video design concepts.
  • Manage workflow with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Produce final production files and ensure quality control.
  • Manage, grow, and develop one Motion Graphics Designer.
