Job Description
We have an urgent requirement for a Software Engineer on a contract basis in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending, and refactoring complex programs and software services, as well as contributing to software delivery and systems integration.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Must be able to perform programming/software development tasks including designing, coding, verifying, testing, documenting, amending, and refactoring complex programs/scripts and integration software services.
- Must assess and analyse release components for input to release scheduling, and maintain tools and methods for software delivery, deployment, and configuration.
- Must design, verify, document, amend, and refactor complex software configurations for deployment while contributing to the selection of configuration methods, tools, and techniques.
- Must undertake the complete design of moderately complex software applications or components and apply agreed standards, guidelines, patterns, and tools.
- Must design system components using appropriate modelling techniques in accordance with agreed architectures, design standards, patterns, and methodology.
- Should produce detailed design specifications as a basis for system construction and review own designs against specifications for improvements.
- Must provide technical expertise for the configuration of system components and equipment during systems testing, collaborating with technical teams on integration plans and progress reporting.
- Very good communication skills are required.

Extension Term Details: Up to an additional 24 months.

Working Arrangements: Preference for on-site work.
