Job Description

The role of a Junior UX Designer at Canonical involves contributing to the design team tasked with transforming complex, open-source software into intuitive products. Canonical aims to provide enterprise-grade open-source software and services globally, impacting millions daily. The design team operates in a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating with visual and UX designers, front-end and back-end developers to deliver engaging web projects. Junior UX Designers play a vital role in enhancing user experience by focusing on clear, stylish presentations that convey real content and information effectively.

This position is remote and located in the EMEA region, reporting to one of the UX design managers.

Requirements

• Excellent academic results at school and university.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in User Experience, Design, or STEM fields.

• Knowledge and passion for user experience, technology, and design.

• Commitment to continuous learning and improvement; curious, flexible, and scientific mindset.

• Drive to complete work and celebrate successes.

• Confidence in user research practices.

• Familiarity with the latest design research and innovation.

• Strong communication skills, comfortable engaging with engineers, designers, and executives.

• Ability to present design ideas clearly and connect them to the company’s strategic vision.
