Job Description

Bonfire Labs is a creative studio headquartered in San Francisco, specializing in strategy development, brand platforms, integrated campaigns, broadcasting, web content, social media, launch films, product and educational films, among others. The studio prides itself on its collaborative partnerships with prominent brands and its adaptable approach to project execution. We are in search of hands-on lead creatives who possess significant experience in content creation, with a particular focus on motion design and storytelling. The ideal candidate will have strong ideation, presentation, and leadership skills to develop creative concepts and guide a team of art directors, designers, animators, editors, and other key creatives for successful project execution and delivery.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience, with at least 2 years in a creative leadership role within a client-services environment (e.g., motion design studio, production company, agency, or digital agency).
• Experience in producing creative material is critical—this role requires hands-on involvement, not just oversight.
• Demonstrated mastery of digital tools, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, 3D, Cinema 4D, Premiere, etc.
• Able to provide clear creative direction and timely feedback to maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to present ideas to clients.
• Mentoring ability and experience working effectively with team members including creatives, producers, editors, animators, and freelancers.
• Must have authorization to work in the US; unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role. Preference for California residents; relocation may not be offered.

Desired Skills:

• Strong motion capabilities coupled with design sensibility and/or ideation skills that have produced awarded work.
• Outstanding hands-on art direction and design skills, as well as proficiency in systematic design/multichannel experience and storytelling abilities.
• Ability and eagerness to collaborate within a strong creative team.
• A strategic ‘big thinker’ who balances aesthetic considerations with audience and communication channel requirements.
• A defined point of view and the ability to articulate conceptual and directional choices.
