Job Description

Mikros Animation is a global CGI animation studio located in Paris, Montreal, Los Angeles, Bangalore, and London, providing end-to-end animation services for feature films, long-form episodic, and traditional episodic animation. We unite with filmmakers to bring their stories to life, adapting our capabilities to serve each project uniquely. Over the past ten years, Mikros Animation has contributed to numerous high-quality feature and episodic projects, producing over 250 hours of programming broadcast in over 180 countries. We are currently seeking passionate 3D character animators to join our team, collaborating to achieve the Director’s vision and create high-quality animations with compelling performances.

Requirements

Animators will be responsible for animating compelling performances within assigned shots, demonstrating a strong sense of 2D design, facial animation, and body mechanics. The ideal candidate will have:

• College diploma or equivalent in 3D computer graphics/3D animation
• More than 3 years (or more than 5 years) of proven work experience in 3D animation using MAYA in film production or animated TV series
• Strong background in feature CG character animation, with 2D animation and drawing/design skills as a plus
• Strong understanding of the principles of 2D cartoony animation, posing, timing, weight, and facial expressions
• Ability to understand and effectively interpret a storyboard and the Director’s feedback
• Capability to work within an established pipeline and learn to use custom tools
• Knowledge of RV and Shotgun, useful but not mandatory
• An eye for whacky, cartoony animation, with a willingness to bend and break animation rules
• Team player with excellent communication skills
