Job Description

At Clear Street, we are modernizing the brokerage ecosystem as a diversified financial services firm founded in 2018. Our focus is on replacing legacy infrastructure with a cloud-native clearing and custody system tailored for today’s complex global market. We integrate with central clearing houses and exchanges to support significant trading volumes daily.

Our Infrastructure Engineering team builds the foundational stack for our services, handling multiple disciplines including Core Platforms, Developer Experience, Security, and Data. We are searching for a seasoned Technical Lead Software Engineer to enhance our security infrastructure and optimize developer experience. This role includes leading a team of engineers, designing and implementing robust security solutions, and ensuring a seamless developer experience throughout the software development lifecycle.

You will work on fortifying our software supply chain and runtime environment in AWS and Kubernetes, collaborating with Infrastructure and Security teams, and advocating for developer-friendly security solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in software engineering, specifically in software supply chain security.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, along with experience in DevOps tools and practices.

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Familiar with Git principles and command line operations.

• Proven leadership and mentorship experience within engineering teams.

• Strong communication skills to convey complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of CI/CD principles, with experience designing, implementing, and maintaining pipelines on platforms like GitHub or GitLab.

• Deep knowledge of software supply chain security principles, including dependency management, artifact signing, and SBOM (software bill of materials).

• Familiarity with SAST, DAST, SCA techniques, and vulnerability management platforms.

• Knowledge of Security techniques for cloud workload protection (CWPP) and security services in AWS.
