Job Description

BBC Radio Nottingham is looking for a talented creative presenter to entertain and inform audiences across Nottinghamshire. This is a unique opportunity to broadcast to our vibrant city and county as the breakfast show host. The breakfast show is a fast-paced, daily mix of current affairs and local stories that matter to the people of Nottinghamshire.

As a Presenter, you will produce and/or present content on all digital platforms. You will contribute to the planning and generation of ideas while being able to move seamlessly between speech and music production/presentation. You’ll handle breaking stories on air and off air, and may also contribute to other BBC services. This role includes various broadcasting formats such as radio shows, social media ‘lives’, TV guest appearances, and pre-recorded content for social media.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be an experienced presenter with a preference for breakfast experience and familiarity with speech radio. You should be comfortable holding politicians accountable while also being entertaining and engaging with the audience.

As a presenter, it’s essential to create a sense of inclusion, conversation, and dialogue during breakfast programming. You will need to establish a great emotional connection with the audience, ensuring your content is real and relatable. Authenticity is crucial, as you will be celebrating, commemorating, and commiserating with the audience, bringing their concerns to life in a creative and entertaining manner.

Strong ideas regarding what makes great breakfast radio and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team to create award-winning audio are also required.
