Job Description

Looking to lead a dynamic team while leveraging your SQL and Power Query skills? We have the perfect opportunity for you! Join the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) at a time of growth, contributing to the Government’s agricultural transition and making a genuine difference to the environmental health and rural economy. The Data, Insight & Outcomes Business Area includes a multidisciplinary team working closely with the agricultural community to deliver impactful changes.

The successful candidate will have experience in working with multiple data sources and the ability to deliver quality analysis and reporting to tight deadlines. They will be part of the Data and Analysis team, focusing on developing and maintaining data production services, exploring available data, and ensuring solutions meet operational needs.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide a cohesive data and MI suite, delivered accurately and on time.
  • Plan development and delivery of solutions ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Manage the team’s development work program, ensuring quality outputs.
  • Unit test products to assure data quality meets requirements.
  • Work with customers and data suppliers to understand requirements and access data.

Person Specification

We encourage applicants from various Operational, IT & analytical backgrounds who are proactive, adaptable, and strong team players. Candidates should have experience in handling large datasets and delivering timely quality analysis and reporting.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in collating and handling large datasets.
  • Experience in SQL and/or Power Query.
  • Able to interpret and summarize information for non-analytical colleagues.

Additional advantageous skills include knowledge of Power Automate, Agriculture Schemes, and experience leading teams.

Benefits

Salary of £41,220, with Rural Payments Agency contributing £11,941 towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Additional benefits include tailored learning opportunities, flexible working options, a culture promoting inclusion and diversity, and an employer pension contribution of 28.97%.
