Job Description

Procentia is seeking two contemporary Web Developers to join our successful Web team in Bristol, working in a hybrid environment. As a Web Developer, you will report to the Web Development Lead and collaborate with colleagues and clients to design, develop, and maintain sophisticated public, member, and employer websites that integrate with our back-office pensions administration platform, IntelliPen. You will play a crucial role in our digital transformation initiatives and help ensure our investment in technology is future-proofed and secure.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have:

• Strong programming skills with an ability to deliver well-tested, finely crafted code.
• Expertise in ASP.NET Web framework (experience with Web Forms and Web API preferred).
• Proficiency in C# and/or VB.NET.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, including frameworks/libraries such as JQuery.
• Familiarity with CSS and frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation.
• Experience with Umbraco, Sitecore, or similar CMS development.
• Capability in responsive web development and cross-device testing.
• SQL experience (ideally T-SQL) and Microsoft SQL Server database development.
• Experience with source control (Git, Subversion).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Stakeholder management experience and a team-oriented attitude.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to seek expert advice when needed.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Meeting with clients and colleagues to determine website needs and providing updates.
• Creating website layouts with digital or handmade sketches.
• Building websites by writing code, designing pages, and incorporating graphics and video elements.
• Determining and installing the best plug-ins and applications for enhanced website features.
• Testing websites across various browsers and debugging as necessary.
• Assisting clients with content publishing.
• Maintaining websites by checking for errors and security issues.
• Writing and testing code and documenting changes made to applications.
• Collaborating with developers in other teams and creating technical documentation.
