Job Description

We’re looking for a talented and experienced content writer to create multi-format content for our global audience of small businesses and accountants. Reporting to the content craft lead, you’ll take responsibility for ideating and writing content that supports our global integrated campaigns, aligned to our strategic objectives. As part of the global content team, you’ll also collaborate with country content managers to create always-on content on key topics for the same audience. Your work will help grow Sage’s reputation as a trusted partner and thought leader to small business owners and accountants worldwide. You will need to ensure content is relevant, clear, and compelling, sometimes challenging briefs and negotiating with stakeholders. A deep understanding of small business and accountancy challenges is essential, along with a dedication to crafting engaging prose.

Requirements

We are looking for a talented and creative content professional to join our team. You should have:

• A strong portfolio of content marketing and/or copywriting projects that demonstrate your ability to inform, engage, and inspire audiences.
• Strategic and creative thinking skills, with the ability to consider the context of content and balance it with creative execution.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, working with various marketing teams.
• The confidence to own and present your content ideas to stakeholders.
• Self-motivation to build a network of peers to enhance content quality.
• Ability to craft compelling narratives with a clear point of view and distill information into clear, concise writing across different formats including video scripts, blog articles, and e-books.

Additional Information

Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week out of our Newcastle office.

Summary of Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Interrogating, negotiating, and executing content briefs for a wide range of campaign assets.
• Writing and updating Sage Advice blog content for English-speaking regions.
• Optimising and localising blog articles for improved search performance based on SEO recommendations.
• Conducting thorough research to stay informed on relevant trends and insights.
• Championing the tone of voice and collaborating with a copy editor to ensure high editorial standards.
• Driving engagement across channels by working with teams such as social media, country content managers, and customer stories.
• Managing content workflows on platforms like Workfront and Skyword, aligning on requirements and deadlines.
• Prioritising tasks for ad-hoc requests and confidently presenting ideas and projects across the business.
