Job Description
The Martin Family Initiative (MFI) is seeking a Content Developer who will report to the Content Development Manager. The Content Developer will coordinate and contribute to the creation and maintenance of content across MFI’s three pillars: Family, Educational, and Economic well-being. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with experience in developing educational content and writing curriculum for Indigenous learners. The position is a one-year full-time contract that can be performed remotely or from the MFI office in downtown Montréal.
Requirements
**Education and Experience:**
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Education, Indigenous/Native Studies, Curriculum Studies or a related field)
- Experience developing educational content and writing curriculum for Indigenous learners
**Knowledge & Skills:**
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Indigenous education and/or anti-colonial theory
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to clearly receive and transmit information
- Organization and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Valid driver’s license

- Be available to travel, sometimes to remote and rural locations, up to 5 days/month
- Available to work in a remote environment during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the local time zone)
- Adhere to MFI’s travel and expense policies
Other Information
This role may involve coordinating with educators and subject matter experts, researching and writing curriculum, collaborating with various creative professionals, and ensuring all content aligns with Indigenous education principles. The position includes managing project deadlines and facilitating in-person activities as needed.
