Job Description

Mikros Animation is a global CGI animation creative studio with locations in Paris, Montreal, Los Angeles, Bangalore, and London. We offer a full range of front-end services through to final picture for feature films, long-form episodic, and traditional episodic animation. Requirements

Animators are expected to:

• Animate compelling performances within assigned shots.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of 2D design, facial animation, and body mechanics (realistic and cartoony) in a demo reel.
• Work from storyboards/layouts to create feature level, key-framed animation.
• Collaborate effectively with Animation Leads and the Director to achieve great performances.
• Meet animation deadlines established by production.
• Participate in dailies and rounds actively.
• Contribute to building shared assets such as the animation library and character rigs.

Qualifications include:

• College diploma or equivalent in 3D computer graphics/3D animation.
• 3-5 years of proven work experience in 3D animation using MAYA in film production or animated TV series.
• A strong background in feature CG character animation, as well as 2D animation and drawing/design skills is preferred.
• Strong understanding of the principles of 2D cartoony animation, including posing, timing, weight, and facial expressions.
• The ability to understand and interpret storyboards and Director feedback effectively.
• Willingness to work within an established pipeline and learn to use custom tools.
• Knowledge of RV and Shotgun is useful.
• An eye for wacky, cartoony animation and a willingness to bend and break animation rules.
• Team player with excellent communication skills.
