Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and talented Video Editor with a sense of humor to join our growing organization. As a Video Editor on the creative team, you will be responsible for editing editorial and branded content for platforms like OverheardLA and OverheardNewYork. This role involves creating social videos in all formats for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, working with both original footage from internal teams and user-generated content (UGC). The goal is to produce engaging, visually fresh content that captures Overheard’s voice and excites followers while attracting new audiences. This is a NYC-based hybrid role.

Responsibilities

• Edit highly engaging and visually fresh content across various formats and platforms.
• Create wildly fun, social-first video formats such as person-on-the-street interviews and city guides.
• Receive and address feedback on edits.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Contribute original content ideas and collaborate with team members.
• Work closely with analytics to develop best practices for audience engagement.
• Keep performance goals in focus and strive to exceed them.
• Collaborate with team members to share ideas and experiences.

Requirements

• 2+ years creating comparable content for a brand, publisher, or company.
• Excellent video editing skills.
• Familiarity with and appreciation of Overheard’s brand voice.
• Experience with social-first humorous content around themes like dating, health + fitness, city life, and local culture is a plus.
• Highly proficient in Adobe Premiere and proficient in Photoshop; After Effects experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of best practices in media management and workflows.
• Strong creative instincts, with abilities in color correction/grading and sound mixing.
• Understanding of the synergy between business and creative efforts.
• Professional background or interest in new media, internet culture, and social media.

Benefits

The base salary for this position will range from $70,000.00 to $75,000.00. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including experience and qualifications.
