Job Description

Playground Games is seeking a Gameplay Animator to join the Fable team on a contract basis. As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, Playground is dedicated to creating genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and fun. This position is part of the exciting reboot of the beloved Fable franchise, with the goal of crafting a new classic in the action RPG genre.

As a Gameplay Animator, you will be a passionate and eager learner who excels at problem-solving. The role calls for creative animators who have a deep affinity for gaming and an understanding of how to implement animations within a game engine. This position offers an opportunity for both seasoned animators and emerging talents to enhance their skills in animation-focused mechanics.

This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa, with a hybrid work model requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, applicants should:

• Showcase exceptional key-frame animation skills in a reel that demonstrates mastery of foundational animation principles and acting abilities.
• Illustrate a proficient command of weight, timing, and posing through manipulation of motion capture data and key-frame animation.
• Possess a deep passion for game development and a keen awareness of current industry titles and trends.

Desirable but not required qualifications include:

• Experience working on console games or RPG games.
• Skills in motion capture and facial animation.
