Job Description

Makematic is seeking FREELANCE ANIMATORS/MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNERS to collaborate on exciting upcoming projects. The role involves creating short-form educational content that integrates live action with overlaid graphics, full-frame 2D animation, and motion graphics. You will work alongside an established and growing creative team, both staff and freelance, to produce fun and engaging animated educational content. This is a remote-hybrid position with the option to work from our office in Belfast city centre, complemented by a cloud-based workflow for additional flexibility.

Requirements

Skills and Qualities:

• Competence in motion graphics and 2D animation
• Illustration skills
• Comfortable working with live action video
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to follow the in-house style guide and maintain clients’ brand guidelines
• Flexibility and openness to feedback, with willingness to alter animations/artworks to meet client needs
• Capacity to work independently and collaboratively within a team, taking directions from senior animators, directors, and clients
• Effective time management, multitasking abilities, and meeting deadlines

Essential Skills:

• Adobe After Effects
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Premiere Pro

Desirable:

• Basic video editing skills
• Experience in educational or explainer videos

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of industry experience, including video production, design, and animation
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-end digital design skills (please include a link to your reel/portfolio)
• Minimum internet connection speed of 25 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload for remote work

Additional Information
