Job Description
Our client within the Risk Insurance domain based in Bermuda is looking for a skilled DevOps/Cloud Engineer specializing in Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, RESTful API, and SQL. The role requires a working knowledge of SDLC, JavaScript (React and Next.js), and Python for Machine Learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for managing infrastructure, deployments, and security/compliance of the system.
- Sufficient full-stack experience to serve as an additional layer of QA/QC on work completed by junior developers/contracted resources and to fill-in for Dan as team leader during absences. Capable of managing/overseeing an ecosystem of third-party services providers, which could include MSPs, MSSPs, and outsourced developers/consultants.
- Up-to-date Azure skills across Azure’s entire service/resource catalog and keen to learn and follow the latest in Azure consistently. Completed Azure certification courses are nice to have but not required if expertise is demonstrable in other ways.
- Depth of knowledge in computer networking, network security, and web application systems architecture, including specific application to Azure and general-purpose foundational knowledge.
- Understanding of relevant frameworks and standards (such as IT security, information security, privacy, legal, compliance, regulatory, and audit) regarding data and IT infrastructure. Experience with Infrastructure as Code software and microservice architectures with RESTful design.
Job Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in Software and Data Engineering, preferably in SaaS environments.
- Good system administration as well as technical operation skills.
- Automate code builds and deployments based on DevOps/Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery principles.
- Establish and manage operational and security policies to mitigate risk in cloud-hosted environments.
- Collaborate with development teams to help provision scalable and reliable application software running in a cloud environment.
- Mentor and train existing IT Operations personnel and application developers on cloud provisioning and best practices.
- Maintain safety, security, and privacy standards throughout all areas of responsibility.
