Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our Platform Foundation Team across locations including France, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. The Platform Foundation Team’s mission is to enable teams by developing the platform, including authentication and authorization for users and services. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing an event bus for cross-service communication.
• Improving and scaling the Message Queue system handling 90M asynchronous messages a day.
• Enhancing platform security.

The role involves collaboration with back-end engineers to maintain high software quality by introducing new technologies, setting quality standards, and participating in cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess the following:

• Excellent demonstrable experience developing web applications with PHP & Symfony / Laravel.
• Mastery of software design principles and back-end application architecture, preferably with Layered Architecture and Domain Driven Design experience.
• Experience designing scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant services.
• Familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks for comprehensive automated testing.
• Good communication skills with a collaborative and empathetic mindset.
• Exposure to agile and lean development processes.

Nice to have:

• Experience with GraphQL, GitLab pipelines, Kubernetes, and AWS.
• Exposure to Event Driven Architecture.
