Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Game Designer to join our talented team at Rebellion. With 30 years in developing and publishing remarkable video games, Rebellion also ventures into film, board games, books, comics, and graphic novels. The Game Designer will play a crucial role in the game development process, engaging in all phases from concept to release, collaborating closely with artists and programmers to create immersive gameplay using innovative mechanics. This position allows for hands-on involvement with game setup, data set maintenance, and in-game content production using visual scripting tools. The role can be based in any of our studios located in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, providing flexibility and collaboration opportunities within our world-class team.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed game design documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to iterate on and refine game mechanics.
• Use in-house development tools to implement gameplay features.
• Contribute to the creative process with feedback and innovative ideas.
• Support the project through playtesting and evaluating game systems.
• Maintain consistent gameplay languages and styles across the game’s mechanics.

Requirements

• Professional experience as a Game Designer in the video game industry.
• Strong understanding of game design principles and methodologies.
• Experience with creating game design documentation and gameplay prototypes.
• Knowledge of the game development lifecycle and production pipelines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
