Job Description

A Senior Artist - Animation is responsible for the creation of efficient and high-quality animation for a range of visual effects projects at Moving Picture Company (MPC). They work closely alongside Animation Leads and Supervisors to create appealing animations that convey convincing performances and physicality. The work produced must meet the standard set by the Animation Supervisor, adhering to the expectations of MPC’s Clients. Additionally, the Senior Artist should efficiently handle challenging technical shots.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the production schedule and complete tasks delegated by the Animation Supervisor.
• Attend Dailies sessions, present their work, and take notes.
• Thoroughly check the quality of their work before passing it downstream.
• Identify and communicate any setbacks regarding their tasks that may impact deadlines.
• Propose solutions for technically challenging shots.
• Create Master Scenes (multi-shot source file).
• Provide robust support to the Lead and assist the rest of the team.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager or a Key Business Relationship.

Requirements

Technical & Soft Skills:

• Previous experience in a VFX environment - Required.
• Advanced knowledge of physics, performance, and anatomy - Required.
• Proficient in the language of cinema and storytelling - Required.
• Experience using Mocap and Facial Capture - Preferred.
• Able to create Previs - Preferred.
• Experience with Motion Builder - Preferred.

Preferred Software Knowledge:

• Maya - Advanced/Expert.
• Linux-based environment - Proficient.
• Python code MEL - Proficient.
