Job Description

MPC (Moving Picture Company) is a global VFX studio renowned for its storytelling expertise in the feature film and episodic industries. The studio has worked on award-winning projects like The Lion King, 1917, The Mandalorian, and Wandavision. As a part of the Technicolor Group network, MPC is committed to leading the visual arts industry by creating authentic connections with audiences. The Senior Artist - Animation is responsible for creating effective and high-quality animation for various visual effects projects, collaborating closely with Animation Leads and Supervisors to produce compelling animations that meet MPC’s client standards. Additionally, they should adeptly manage challenging technical shots.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow the production schedule and complete tasks delegated by the Animation Supervisor.
• Attend Dailies sessions to present work and take notes.
• Thoroughly check the quality of work before passing it downstream.
• Identify and communicate any setbacks that may affect deadlines.
• Propose solutions to technically challenging shots.
• Create Master Scenes (multi-shot source files).
• Provide solid support to the Lead and assist the team.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

• Consistently meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of visual quality and technical execution.

Qualifications:

• Technical & Soft Skills:
• Previous experience in a VFX environment - Required
• Advanced knowledge of physics, performance, and anatomy - Required
• Proficient in the language of cinema and storytelling - Required
• Experience using Mocap and Facial Capture - Preferred
• Able to create Previs - Preferred
• Experience with Motion Builder - Preferred
• Preferred Software Knowledge:
• Maya - Advanced/Expert
• Linux-based environment - Proficient
• Python code MEL - Proficient

MPC Knowledge Definition

Foundational knowledge: Familiarity with basic principles and terminology to understand and solve simple problems.

Proficient knowledge: Knowledge to perform most work in normal situations, including comprehension of standard situations and significant subject aspects.
