Junior Backend Engineer

Location: Leeds - 2x a week

Salary: Up to £35,000

Fruition IT are working with a well-established tech-first business who are embarking on a complete technical transformation. This client is looking to bring in a Junior Backend Software Engineer to work on a bespoke software platform as part of the business growth. The Junior Backend Software Engineer will be part of the team responsible for building a bespoke SaaS product and creating a low latent high performing connected platform. You will be working with Terraform as the infrastructure as code, and working with Node.js as the backend framework, spun up into an AWS platform.

What will I be doing?

• Developing web applications and systems using JavaScript, Node and Typescript.
• Defining and analysing business requirements.
• Supporting continuous improvement and integrations to enhance deployment.
• Collaborating with engineers, architects, and testers to develop unit code.
• Working in an AWS environment.

Requirements

• JavaScript development experience for at least 1 year.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Typescript and Node.
• Experience with React (desirable).
• Understanding of Terraform as infrastructure as code.
• Working knowledge of REST and GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Agile ways of working (Scrum/Kanban).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team and to your own initiative.
