Job Description

Fruition IT is seeking a Junior Backend Engineer for a well-established tech-first business in Leeds. This role involves participating in a complete technical transformation and contributing to the development of a bespoke software platform as part of the company’s growth strategy. The Junior Backend Software Engineer will help build a bespoke SaaS product and create a low-latency, high-performing connected platform. The position includes using Terraform for infrastructure as code and Node.js as the backend framework, deployed onto an AWS platform.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in JavaScript development.
  • Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Typescript and Node.
  • Experience with React (desirable).
  • Understanding of Terraform as infrastructure as code.
  • Experience working with REST and GraphQL.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both in a team and independently.

Other Information

The position is based in Leeds and requires attendance in the office twice a week. The salary for this role is up to £35,000.
