Job Description

Bloomberg News, a leading financial and business news organization, is seeking an energetic and creative journalist and podcast producer for its ambitious podcast franchise, The Big Take. This franchise includes a daily show and two weekly shows focused on Asia and Washington, DC, delivering original, global, and financial news five days a week. The producer will work under the guidance of the Deputy Executive Producer and collaborate with a global editorial and production podcast team, as well as reporters and editors from Bloomberg’s wider newsroom.

Responsibilities

The producer will be responsible for:

• Production of Big Take podcast episodes.
• Writing episodes with guidance from editors and hosts.
• Booking, pre-interviewing, and prepping questions for hosts, editors, and show leadership.
• Pulling and producing tape and assembling episodes.
• Regularly pitching and developing episodes with Bloomberg reporters.
• Filling in as Senior Producer when necessary.
• Attending newsroom desk meetings to discuss episodes and communicate needs.
• Working outside of normal working hours for meetings with different time zones or breaking news.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

• At least 5 years of journalism experience.
• Audio reporting or producing experience.
• Experience with audio editing programs.
• Demonstrated ability to write podcast episodes and identify strong tape and episode arcs.
• Strong communication skills.
• A strong desire to work collaboratively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Audition.
