Job Description

The Creative Store is offering a freelance Creative Director role for a forward-thinking individual based in Auckland. This position is within a progressive media agency that is redefining the connection between media, data, and creativity. The Creative Director will focus on AI-enabled and media-first creativity, crafting high-performance, scalable, and personalized content across digital platforms.

As the Creative Director, you will lead the intersection of creativity, AI, and media performance, develop innovative creative strategies, oversee AI-driven production, and collaborate with data experts for dynamic content optimization.

Responsibilities

Creative Leadership and Vision: Define and lead the creative vision for storytelling and performance-driven content while challenging conventional processes.

AI-Powered Creative Execution: Leverage AI tools to scale content creation and develop frameworks for modular content production, including dynamic creative assets.

Collaboration and Integration: Work with data scientists and performance media planners to devise creative strategies based on audience behavior and insights, managing a high-impact team.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with clients and internal teams to promote performance-driven creativity, developing thought leadership and presenting solutions in various forums.

Requirements

• 10+ years in creative leadership roles, with 5+ years in a digital-first or performance-driven creative environment.

• Strong understanding of AI’s role in content creation and experience with generative AI tools.

• Proven ability to create high-performing digital campaigns across various platforms.

• Experience leading creative strategies based on media performance data and collaborating closely with marketing teams.

• Strong storytelling skills with a balance between brand-building creativity and conversion-focused execution.

• Excellent pitching and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

• Passion for testing and iterating creative ideas based on performance insights.

• Experience managing cross-functional teams for effective campaign execution.
