Job Description

Remuneration package: £47,884 - £75,281 per annum.

Senior Full Stack Engineer - This role is initially on a 12-month Fixed-term contract, with the aim of it becoming a permanent role.

Torchbox is a digital marketing specialist for many of the biggest charities in the UK, building digital products for international NGOs, governments, and universities. Requirements

Technical Skills:

• **Essential:**Demonstrable expertise in Python and Django web development
• Experience with Relational Database Systems (especially PostgreSQL), Docker/Containerised deployments, RESTful APIs (e.g., DRF), Gitlab/GitHub, CI and Testing
• An understanding of technologies such as Heroku, Azure, AWS, GCP, Elasticsearch, GraphQL
• Front-end programming skills using JavaScript-based frameworks (e.g., React/NextJS, Vue/NuxtJS)
• Desirable:
• Familiarity or expertise with Wagtail
• Expertise in NLP, Large Language Models, or other AI technologies
• Expertise in data warehousing and data pipelines
• Experience with Node.js/Express
• Front-end styling skills using Tailwind and BEM
• Knowledge or expertise in accessibility testing and best practice

Other Skills:

• Experience as a technical lead on projects
• Confidence in project management (e.g., agile development methodologies and backlog refinement)
• Experience in communication with internal teams and clients to elicit requirements and convert them into robust technical architecture
• Ability to produce high-quality technical specifications and documentation
• Skill in estimating time required to build
• Capability to contribute to testing strategies
• Experience in producing high-quality code to budget with commercial awareness
• Technical contributions towards pitches and proposals
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, and line managing
• Commitment to staying updated with technologies in the software field

The Application Process
