Job Description

The role: Senior Frontend Dev – Gaming, VR, Mobile & PC

Location: Leamington Spa (hybrid with a min. of 3 days onsite per week)

Salary: £110k to £115k basic (PAYE, paid weekly, within IR35) + benefits

Contract: 2-3 months, to start ASAP, with a strong possibility of extension

You MUST be fully clear to work in the UK without needing relocation/sponsorship.

Are you a Gaming front-end developer or technical designer with a passion for crafting immersive gameplay experiences? We’re looking for a gameplay scripting expert to help drive the design, prototyping, and implementation of engaging content across VR, mobile, and PC.

Requirements

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, script, and implement polished, reusable gameplay elements
• Prototype gameplay designs to illustrate and refine core concepts
• Oversee cross-platform playtesting, using data-driven insights to iterate and improve gameplay
• Generate detailed paper designs for stakeholder approval
• Work closely with teams to ensure seamless gameplay across different platforms

What You Bring:

• 7+ years’ experience in gameplay scripting, technical design, or equivalent education
• Strong understanding of game architecture and common gameplay mechanics
• Proficiency in TypeScript or similar scripting languages
• Experience debugging and optimising performance within a scripting environment
• Knowledge of interaction design across multiple input devices (PC, console, mobile, VR)
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, including remote teamwork

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with a variety of game genres and player motivations
• A strong understanding of mobile & VR game design principles
• Background in data-driven design iteration
